We thank you for teaching us how to love, yeah cos through the years we've lost our way but you set us right, mmmm now the time has come for us to say thank you in a special way cos to experience we have learned that everybody needs somebody to love and everybody needs somebody to care and every nation needs someone to show them when you're down he'll always be there. mmm mmm children laugh and children cry sometimes it's hard, to say good bye, yeah and we all need to open up all of our hearts, and spread some love and the time will come for us to say thank you in a special way cos through experience we'll learn that that everybody needs somebody to love, yeah, yeah that everybody needs somebody to care (everybody needs somebody to care) and every nation needs someone to show them (every nation) when you're down (when you're down) he'll always be there (he'll be there) he'll be right there mary leaning on his everlasting arms, yeah safe and secure with no harm see there is something we can do, (we can do) because it starts inside of you (in you) for god knows you are my friend, yeah for forever to the end (and everybody) and everybody needs somebody to love (everybody needs somebody to love) and everybody needs somebody to care (somebody just to care) and every nation needs somebody to show them (every nation needs somebody to show them) when you're down, (when you're down) he'll always be there (he'll be right there) everybody, everybody, everybody, needs somebody to love everybody, everybody, everybody, needs somebody to care everybody (it makes no difference who you are) everybody, everybody needs somebody to care every nation needs someone to show them when you're down, (when you're down) he'll always be there.
