A long time ago I befriended a demon unknown (but I found out)
Dressed in disguise but could tell from a look to the eyes (something wasn't right)
Still I went on unaware good intentions were false (underneath it)
All a facade just a cover to throw us all off
Now I think of those times
How could I have been so blind?
It seems I'd create my own demise
They were lead deep inside
Right behind enemy lines
Ready to shoot to kill
Serpent of fire, no recollection of desire (from the beginning)
Forgive I've sinned, a statement you'd never given (no apology)
Greed was a choice, if you listen you'd hear in (the voice of obsession)
Head hung in shame, I've no pity only you to blame
Now I think of those times
How could I have been so blind
It seems I'd create my own demise
