a tribute to the distant
who submitted themselves to the void
now entomb our mind's eyes in coffins of clarity
wherein we, in our ignorance
although we see it not, but at times like these,
are as them, captives in the void
energy harboured by the woods surrounding us
and our faith in evil's purity
transform our clarity into a curse
all we see, our bodies, escape the strains of earthly life
all we are, mental shapes, dreams within a dream
all we carry with us to remind us of the life we led -
are the names we bore
a surge of power rises up, embraces us, and casts us
down to earth again
and the vision is no more
