When I think of the things that I do for my fellow men
I must admit I don't do very well
But I don't need to live being devoured by sorrows and
Feelings of guilt won't protect me from hell
I've never been good at remorse or confessing
I'm one of the kind that would rather deny
But I'm blessed with a face that shows love and good will
And a hypocrite smile behind which I can hide
Now it won't take a fortune to feel purified
If a conscience is willing to be pacified
Soon my sleepless nights will be gone
When the sales on the guardian angels are on
I never stood up for my lies and my promises
I found my personal truth in the facts
But slightly I slipped from the main road to God,
With this cheap contribution I'm back on the track
Now I don't give much money, so both of us gain

I got a letter and it got here today
With a photograph showing the village I saved
It points out one girl, though they all look the same
Saying I paid enough now to give her a name
