I got her number off the bathroom wall
Said her name was Candy Rose
It took some courage just to make that call
Roll the dice, you never know
I got a checkered cab in seconds flat
In minutes, I was climbing her gates
She was looking down from her balcony
Hangin' out all over the place
She said: Hey, Sugar, have you been here before?
Next time you come around, use the back door
Kid in a candy store
Everything and a little more
Kid in a candy store
Flat sixty-nine on the second floor, yeah
Went inside, my brain was fried
From working swing shifts all week long
I needed company, a little fantasy
The situation was clearly on
She had raven hair and ruby lips
And the body of a movie star
Till she held out her hand, said: Do you understand?
It's two grand and your new guitar
I said: Hey, Sugar I've been here before
But next time I come, I'll use the back door
Kid in a candy store
Everything and a little more
Kid in a candy store
Suite sixty-nine on the seventh floor
An empty wallet makes an empty heart
As a penny dropped to the floor
All my wages are in your dresser drawer
But I always come back for more
Kid in a candy store
Everything and just a little more
Kid in a candy store
Flat sixty-nine on the second floor
Kid in a candy store
Everything and just a little bit more
Kid in a candy store
Suite sixty-nine on the seventh, seventh floor
Candy store, candy store, candy store
Want a little more
Candy store, candy store, candy store
On the seventh floor
Candy store, candy store, candy store
I want a little more
Candy store, candy store, candy store
Open up your door, yeah
Candy Rose
