You were right
There is a coldness in me
And it doesn't leave
When you hold me
I met the real you
On the last day of our love
On the worst birthday ever
Sat on your parents' farm
Do you remember
Lying on your bed?
Whispering to me
Your love could never change
You said there was nothing I could do
To kill the feeling that flows through you
What, you don't remember?
Well I remember
For he was born on New Year's Day
He's always hated January
We made it to Christmas but not New Year
As the cadaverous queens rub their hands in glee
As the rumours go 'round SE16
He's always hated January
But now he's ruined it for me too
Your brother was a bully
But your father's a pig
No wonder you turned out
The way you did
January always leaves you blue
It would have been funny
If it wasn't all true
But it was
Every word of this is true
Shame on me
But shame on you too
For you betrayed me
With your silence
But your dad got his wish
His gay son's no longer in love
For he was born on New Year's Day
He's always hated January
We made it to Christmas but not New Year
As the cadaverous queens rub their hands in glee
As the rumours go 'round SE16
He's always hated January
But now he's ruined it for me too
