I was sittin' in the county bank, waitin' on a check
Three nervous fools came stormin' in, lookin' like a wreck
One held his shotgun backwards, lord, what a crew
I wasn't scared of gettin' robbed, I was embarrassed for 'em too
I coulda robbed this bank better, made it clean and quick
Been halfway down the county road before they caught the trick
But I was just a customer, I figured I'd behave
So I kept my mouth shut and watched the experts make fools
I try to keep it simple, just let me be
But I can't resist a crooked deal when I see
I see some wannabe playin' slick
Well, I gotta show 'em the trick
Then came a woman in a dress God himself could barely hold
I knew I smelled some trouble, but I smiled and played it cold
Said she ran the bank, wrong badge, ankle monitor on display
She started flirtin', so I dropped a few clues for my getaway
Pretty soon that robbery was the last thing on our minds
We got a little busy, I kept an eye on the time
Tied her sandal straps to a pipe, then slipped out clean
Took every dollar in the vault and left her tangled in the scene
I try to keep it simple, just let me be
But I can't resist a crooked deal when I see
I see some wannabe playin' slick
Well, I gotta show 'em the trick
That night I was miles away, my money tucked safe and sound
She walked in, couldn't tell if she was mad or huntin' me down
I said: Ain't got a dime, she smiled, money ain't all I came to see
Two crooks usually screw folks over, that night, we screwed each other instead
I try to keep it simple, just let me be
But I can't resist a crooked deal when I see
I see some wannabe playin' slick
Well, I gotta show 'em the trick
