Three beers deep in a dive bar, a stranger took a stool
I caught that crooked grin and thought, I know this fool
He said, took you long enough, that haircut? You chose that style?
I said: You're the devil, he said: Technically, then smiled
I came to offer three wishes, ain't that a genie's job?
He flashed that smug old grin, you think I'd live in a bottle, boy?
Hell no, my kind don't wait around all day
We kick the damn thing open and walk away
Three wishes, I thought I'd beat the devil's game
Ended up with no damn wishes, just the bar tab in my name
They say the devil's deals can make the impossible come true
But bend me? Hell, I'll find a way to slip right through
I said: A million dollars, he said: Cash? What about tax?
I said: That ain't fair, he said: Should've read the facts
The prettiest woman alive, alive? And crazy 'bout me
Crazy, I guarantee, but crazy 'bout you? That's beyond me
I called him a son of a bitch, I prefer professional
So I said: Make me the smartest man imaginable
More? I said, yeah, I wanna be your equal
He grinned, now you're askin' for the impossible
Three wishes, I thought I'd beat the devil's game
Ended up with no damn wishes, just the bar tab in my name
They say the devil's deals can make the impossible come true
But bend me? Hell, I'll find a way to slip right through
The devil said, truth is, I need a little favor from you
Fetch my briefcase at the church, just a mile or two
You lost it in a church? Things happen, souls, don't ask me why
One more wish? I asked, he grinned, nice try
Three wishes, I thought I'd beat the devil's game
Ended up with no damn wishes, just the bar tab in my name
They say the devil's deals can make the impossible come true
But bend me? Hell, I'll find a way to slip right through
Keep tellin' yourself that, son, I'll see you next time, hahaha
